Teenage Robot R34
Teenage Robot R34 is an uncommon gem that successfully marries anime Mecha shows and cartoonish comedy to create something truly remarkable: an intricate yet entertaining blend that manages to hold together beautifully despite all of its complex parts. Teenage Robot R34 also happens to be quite funny despite some adult jokes being scattered about.
Janice Kawaye voices Jenny XJ-9 (Robotic Response Unit or Teenage Girl). Dr. Nora Wakeman (Candi Milo) creates the state-of-the-art response unit from which Jenny derives her life – or, rather, teenage girlness! Although programmed to protect Earth against threats such as Queen Vexus Eartha Kitt and Cluster attacks, Jenny still wants a normal teenage life with three close friends – Brad Carbunkle/Tuck Carbunkle (Melissa Denton/Chad Doreck)/Sheldon Lee/Sheldon Lee/Sheldon Lee/Sheldon Lee/Quinton Flynn).
She not only boasts superhuman durability and telescopic vision, but can also see in ultraviolet light. Additionally, she possesses an acid reflex lamination made of triple polycarbonate for maximum power.
Jenny is notable in that she can use both hands equally. Furthermore, she blinks frequently – an oddity among robots – which the animators explained by saying they thought made for more realistic appearance.
Jenny would develop an ongoing friendly rivalry with Killgore during the series. At first, Jenny found Killgore an entertaining partner for playing pranks on Crust Cousins and other teens at Tremorton High School; but when his antics became cruel or sadistic she became concerned that he might turn into an antagonist; in episode Enclosure of Doom (2005) they worked together to escape Armagedroid’s body and free themselves.
